Fun Fact: One of our biggest marketing pet peeves is when people/companies use industry jargon to communicate with their clients. We see it on websites, social media, emails, and even in customer service. For those who don’t work in your industry, or aren’t super familiar with it- it sounds like a foreign language and acronyms are a nightmare!
You know the message you’re trying to convey, but does the potential client comprehend it? Just because it’s obvious to you, does not mean it’s obvious to them. If they don’t understand what you’re saying then keeping their attention and making a sale is going to be significantly more difficult.
We love working with clients in new industries because we have a fresh perspective on their messaging and can easily see where tweaks would be helpful to increase their sales.
Here’s an easy way to find out if what you’re saying/writing makes sense to your customers – share it with someone who doesn’t know anything about what you do. Their feedback will give you insight as to how your messaging is being received.
Definitions are part of our Instagram and Facebook content and are scheduled to coordinate with blogs that use those terms. This is so that our audience has a reference point and isn’t left feeling like there’s something they should know that they don’t.
